Observation details

Was observing a small flock of warblers in the trees surrounding the parking lot at the main field that floods when I saw the bird fly into the tree I was watching. I got my bins on it quickly, but it was backlit and deep in shadow with its back to me. I immediately noted a lack of rufous coloring on the wing, but was unable to get good looks at bill color and eye ring. It eventually did turn towards me when I snapped the only picture I got. Impression in the field was a black bill and lack of spotting on the tail( as a yellow billed cuckoo would have), but needed to go home and review the picture on the big screen to confirm the tail.
