Observation details

*Rare; 2nd spring record in the last decade and just the 9th eBird record overall. Wonderful find by Elle earlier in the day and kindly continuing in the same area all day. One of our two targets here this evening, with the other (DEJU) being found at the Airport Bluffs minutes later. In the SW corner of the park, hopping up onto a wooden deck with reels of black wire. Lengthy views showed a long-tailed, buffy sparrow with fine streaking down the chest and flanks, buffy malar, and richly patterned back. Did not move far in the time we watched it, even allowing some visiting birders to run over and see it! Photos to come
