Media notes

Two records of same singing solitaire. Singing appeared to be prompted by another solitaire in close proximity. The birds perched together in juniper, then the one singer would chase the other a short distance (flapping audible) to another nearby perch and resume singing. This sequence was observed several times. Other solitaires can be heard calling in the background.

Observation details

Much singing and foraging on chokecherry fruit.

Additional species

  • American Robin Turdus migratorius
  • Black-billed Magpie Pica hudsonia
