Media notes
Bird pershed on power line after the falcon had flown over. It was much more relaxed.
Observation details
One kingfisher was perched on a powerline, above a mown lawn. When a female New Zealand falcon flew over (the kingfisher responding perhaps as least as much to an Australian magpie's alarm cal as to the sight of the falcon, which was quite high up) it immediately crouched horizontally on the line, appearing to be ready to take flight, but then relaxed once the falcon had flown on.
