Observation details
Pulled up and saw the mob and immediately saw the bird perched atop a snag from the car. Watched it for at least 6-7 minutes with at least 41 observers. Absolute GIGA rarity and first L48 record found yesterday by Eve Meier and Patricia Lynch. First the Siberian Rubythroat and now this, there is definitely something going on at the Google campus. When I saw the very first photos come in yesterday I passed it off as a Contopus. Then the good photo came in from Garrett and I almost shouted "SPOTTED FLYCATCHER" out loud in the office (how obvious is it I've never seen a Muscicapa in my life??). Just glad it stuck one more day. Google stock is up 2% since this bird was found yesterday. Just saying... Maybe a I'll buy one in celebration. Today is a good day. Gonna pop open a cold one tonight. Photos forthcoming.
