Observation details
Bird had been reported off and on for several months. One resident said bird was in Folyette last year as well. After a full days search, bird flew in with American crows chasing it and landed in top of conifer near public school at Tamarack and Second Avenue at 5:15 p.m. Another birder had seen bird at same site this morning at 7 a.m. Not there at 10:20 thus day search. Black crown, crest, pink facial skin, grey beak, white cheeks and neck with basal baring, black body feathers with black wings and white wing patches. After staying in spruce for twenty five minutes, flew off to rail yard where it perched on a railway tie in a pile. Groomed a little then flew back towards school. Seen at the school site about twenty minutes later by another bird group as we headed home in H3Hummer. Many photos taken by our car group (4), car from Sudbury (2), car from St.Catherines (2), car from London (1). One car left hour earlier and were unsuccessful.
