Observation details
Odd belted kingfisher. Melanism?Originally found last Friday (9/12/25). Overall steel blue color. Lacking the white markings and banding typical of species. Typical belted kingfisher vocalizations. Same behavior, perching, diving in water, lofty flight. Pictures to follow.
