Observation details

Med-small gray shorebird with short yellowish legs and med-long needle-thin dark bill (slightly longer than width of head thru eye). Half size of LBDOs it was associating with. Med gray back, brownish upper wings (wing coverts uniformly fringed off-white); pale gray nape; face white with grayish patch behind eye and grayish brown cap separated by a thin white supercilium flaring behind the eye; underparts white from chin to tail coverts. White rump, white upper tail coverts with some spotting; white tail feathers with broad gray fringes. First-cycle; body and head in formative plumage aspect, with juv wings and tail feathers.
