Observation details
Commic type terns with longer bill and legs compared to Arctic and grey rump and dark trailing edge on the primaries. 1 seen resting on the jetty for an extended period and flying through the boat yard later on before being seen landing on the launching jetty after a few minutes (same bird?) followed by another 2 flying in with a group of crested terns a few minutes later. All 3 seen well for an extended period- 2 took off and were taken east of the harbour by the winds while the last bird flew towards the boat yards and was lost amongst the flying crested terns. Conservative count is 3 but there could have been 4 or possibly 5 birds. Photos to follow
