Observation details

We saw 2 different Golden Eagles. My companion had seen two adults and two young together last week. He spoke with the Michigan DNR who are aware of the successful nesting and aware of the nest location but not made it public so that as not to disturb the nesting birds. In flight the bird was distinctly larger than the Bald Eagle we also saw on this trip. It had well defined white patches at the base of the primaries and a white upper tail and distinct dark terminal band. Cell phone picture included. The adult bird seen shortly after was was solidly dark with a distinct golden collar.
