Observation details

Cont. breeding pair with juv. Adult: pale gray head & below, dark/pale gray above, long pointed wings, long dark triangular tail. Juv: brown above, streaked below. Nest: small tangle of sticks in tree crotch ~80 ft high. Adults mostly soared/foraged away from nest, only returned briefly to feed juv; food included large dragonfly. Juv mostly on or near nest but flew and spent ~5 minutes on nearby tree snag. Juv called often but especially as adult flew in to feed. Great views from large grassy area north of Martins Lane. 5th consecutive year birds have nested here per local birder
