Media notes
Two Bonaparte's gulls, one common tern, and two Forster's terns on drift wood. Recent full moon tides resulted in lots of floating debris.
Observation details
I observed two Forster's terns that were resting on driftwood, and then took flight. One was an adult in basic plumage and the other was a juvenile. Both were identified by their dark masks with pale napes. The younger bird still had a bit of ginger brown markings on its cap and back. The adult offered the juvie a piece of seaweed, suggesting that they were a parent/chick pair.
