Observation details
Two continuing birds. One close and the other was on the further shore. Very tall and larger than the small peeps. Similar in size apparently to the Pectoral. They were tall enough to walk through deeper water than the other sandpipers in the area. They fed by tipping further down than other shorebirds because they were so tall. Their bills were twice as long as their heads, longer than the Pectoral which was in the area. Bold white supercillium wrapping to the back of their heads. Brown cap. Slight Buffy tones to their throat and breast. White belly and under-tail coverts. Their backs were boldly patterned back with black primaries extending barely beyond tail. Photos
