Observation details
Warbling-Vireo that was a bit rounder and smaller with a shorter thinner bill. It did not vocally respond to Eastern or Western playback, but did seem to come in closer after playing a Western song. The eyeline is a bit more muted and not the same shade as the darker color on the crown. It does have some yellow wash on the flanks which is typical of most vireos in fall, but color can be deceiving in Warbling-Vireos, the structure is what is most apparent. Per Dr. Jacob Cooper: Small, "cute" appearance with a very round head; bill mostly dark, looks short and stubby like a Philadelphia Vireo, not long and tapered like a Red-eyed. Decent-ish amount of contrast between the cap and back of the neck and cheeks too.
