Observation details

Leaning toward American as wing tips extend well beyond tip of tail, very dark auricular area, bill seems on small side and slightly more slender and narrowing to more of a point at the tip compared to Pacific; left side view shows many primaries exposed but tertials or coverts might be missing exposing more outer primaries, or perhaps that longest tertial in view was out of place??; right side view (poor picture) shows more normal view and there is substantial primary extension but cannot really count the number of primaries.
