Observation details

Small white shorebird with contrasting dark ear patch and long, dark bill; often swimming in circles in the the water next to the mudflat. Juvenile. It was still there when I left. As I was standing on the walking path observing it, a Northmoreland Park regular walker stopped and said to me that it is a shame that part of the lake dried up. I told her No, there are shorebirds feeding on the mudflat and she replied there is good and bad in everything. I said, Yes!
