NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 6. Bulk reel: 219203 tape.a) (After female emerged from nest and was tossing leaves.) A "quiet conversation" in response to female's first "rally call" (which was not recorded): it is not clear if these recorded sounds are by male alone, by male and nesting female; or by male and another bird near him. After some song by distant birds, the female again gives a short rally call; at some time "series purr" calls are given by the male. This is repeated, copied from N-4.2 to N-IV, and include the recorded "conversation" as the female called and met male.b) 30/III/74 1640 hrs. Rancho Grande nesting study. Series purr and rally calls by male on way back to spend the night in vicinity of the nest. Quality: 3. Level: +3. No parabola. Copied SN to N-4.2.c) 1300 hrs. (Just after I had left blind.) Song by two different (pairs of ?) birds down slope, answered by the nesting bird(s); then more song by the birds down the slope and some bother (conflict, alarm ?) calls, apparently by the male of nest. Quality: 3. Level: +3. No parabola. Copied SN to N-4.2. Other Behaviors: Mate.
