Observation details
I am not sure why ebird has not allowed me to sync the changes to the shared checklist made by Suzanne including her photos of this bird. Found alongside Suzanne Picard. I found it suspicious and went through a process of making sure it was not one of several potential rare gulls, but had not considered Kelp. Thus, I misidentified it as a Lesser Black-backed Gull. Suzanne placed this gull on inaturalist where it was discovered and identified as a Kelp Gull by many. This gull was later posted on facebook in the North American Gulls group. I have a very poor photo of it that I do not believe is diagnostic of anything, but Suzanne has some excellent photos. I think it is possible this is the same individual that was found earlier this year on Padre Island. The time stamp is incorrect on the inaturalist, as this bird was identified earlier in the day.
