Observation details
Well offshore of Kayak Island. Pin is pretty close to the actual location. 2 shorebirds flying along the ship. Broad white wing stripe covering secondaries and stretching into primaries. Smudgy, dark breast with streaking along flanks. One bird clearly has a yellowish/orange bill base. Bill significantly longer than a Surfbird would show and the tail pattern with black uppertail covert stripe is unlike the banded dark tail tip of a surfbird. Poor pictures due to fast moving ship in choppy seas.
