[Approximate date and pinned location, deduced from the literature, text and the expedition's detailed itinerary.] "The first birds of this new species were obtained by us in Ala-shan, mountains. The autumnal migration takes place in October, in which we found it sparingly distributed throughout the Kan-su mountains" (Prjevalsky [= Przewalski], 1877, p. 176-177).
