Observation details

Continuing. Medium-sized, chunky shorebird. Upperparts mostly gray with white underparts; some barring on flanks; white supercilium; straight black bill; scapulars, coverts and tertials with dark lines and pale fringes; very faint, light buffy/red on breast visible only when bird turned a certain way; fairly short, "dirty-yellow" legs; pointed wings with wing bars seen in flight. Horizontal body posture as bird walked along the beach slowly, picking at the sand. Photos.
