Observation details
I noticed a small, all-white Heron standing to the left of where I had first observed the previously reported shore birds at 5:26 pm, the backlight and glare on the water had obscured it until then, and it was very low key. I immediately trained my scope on it, and realized right away that it was an immature Little Blue Heron. Even with the not quite ideal lighting, I was able to get photos and observe it thoroughly. It's two-tone bill grayish-blue, with a dark tip jumped out at me. It's eyes were an intense pale yellow, thinly outlined in black. It's legs were a uniform pale greenish yellow color. I stopped doing my general bird survey, and focused on observing and documenting it. I have a fair amount of prior experience with this species, mostly in Florida. But in other locations as well. Photos to be uploaded ASAP.
