Observation details
Photos. High flying going south. Was confused as the dark trailing edge on the primaries looks very narrow like an Arctic Tern. However, the large head, short tail, long bill and translucence on the mid wing all are good for Common, which is the expected species. In the extended wing photo the dark trailing edge does get wider towards the inner primaries, as in Common. I assume this is a juvenile based on the tail shape and length.
