Observation details

Large shorebird with long upturned bill that was orangish at base and faded into black at the tip. Back of bird was dark gray or black with white speckling. Top of head dark, whitish above eye, dark eye line. Chest and belly heavily barred with rusty color. White rump visible when bird stretched its wings.
