Observation details
After initially seeing it yesterday afternoon, it reappeared today and I got some photos. Juvenile, indicated by pale gape. I had a Brown-crested Flycatcher in the yard June 22 and 23, which suggests possible nesting somewhere in my neighborhood. Although juvenile Ash-throated Flycatcher can be brighter below and with more rufous in wings and tail than adults, those both seem too extensive for Ash-throated and the long, heavy bill also rules out Ash-throated. I did not hear any vocalizations.
