NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 2. Bulk reel: 211. Weather: clear. Bird was on the East side of road. Notes: a) first 1 wing-whirr. Note that this bird gives 2 claps before the display and there may even have bee 1 prior to that. Length: 14". Quality: 2. Level: +14. Then whistled song, perhaps by this same bird, but not sure. In background is wihg-whirr of another. Length: 1'35". Quality: 2, 1-2. Level: +14. Then good wing-whirr, almost surely by the whistling bird. Note that this is preceded by only 1 clap; also there was perios of silence (=36") between last whistle and the display. b) During the next 10' there was some whistling in the beginning and then wing-whirrs at intervals by near and far birds. Cut 2 cont'd: I cut out most of this, saving only the wing-whirrs.... by, *perhaps* all by same bird. In the case of the first of these the bird had been whistling, then became silent for a short while (35") before giving the display which is saved. (Also in this case is heard a snap preceding the clap that precedes the display (1.5"before). This is either another clap or as sounds more likely, the breaking of a dry branch, on which bird may have been sitting, as bird took off.) However I heard no whistling after that by the near bird (which I presume is same in all cases, but may not be).
