Observation details

Adult in worn breeding plumage. Larger than the LEYE, more of size of a GRYE but much more rotund with long, pointed bill. Slate black plumage with white spotting along wings and broken white eye ring. White stripe up back, thin black and white barring of tail. Bright orange base of lower mandible, fading to black starting 1/3 of the way up the bill. Muted, darker orange legs compared to base of bill. Stunning bird, vocalizing occasionally. Found this morning by Nathan H.
