Observation details
Saw the adult female perched in one of the regular spots. She left and came back with a female/juvenile house sparrow. She ripped the head off, then the tail, then defeathered it. She then proceeded to eat the whole bird including the two legs. She then cleaned her beak. Afterwards, she stayed on the perch facing me and the sunrise and was still there when I drove away. She never called me out or flew towards me the entire time I was there. Lately, I have been observing them near my car on the roads and never wandering into the fields with my camera (which prompted territorial displays in the past). But also maybe they are used to me. Maybe. lol. Heard a juvenile while I watched her eat. Heard the adult male after she ate.
