Observation details
Had seen only one Pied-Billed Grebe on previous visit. Today there were two: both juveniles -- one somewhat younger than the other. Both were missing the black, vertical stripe on the beak. Both had stripes on the cheek -- in the case of the one I took to be younger, these stripes were faintly yellow. They were initially resting together on the water. Then they both started to dive -- presumably for fish.
