Observation details

Four maybe 5 Black-billed Cuckoos found 15 to 20 feet of the edge of the road. Found it odd that they were staying near and not flying off as they mostly do. Spent a good amout of time looking for them, nearly gave up twince as the under brush was very thick and hard to see through. Finally caught a glimpse of some movement, then re positioned and found 1 juvenile, not much more than a fledgling. Smaller than then adult this bird had a similarly shaped body though a short (expected for the young a bird) tail. Plain whitish chest and belly, plain brown above,,and no red eye-ring (I assume this is due to the age of the bird). (See Photos) Audio also added. Note that the count is based on the direction the calls were comming from in the field. Two adults (calls were more mature sounding), and 2 quite possible 3 chicks. Often calling in unison. Only one specimen actully seen/ photographed.
