Observation details

Found earlier in the day by Chris Tomera and seen by many. Adult in transitional plumage. We were fortunate to get very close views later in the afternoon when she/he flew in closer to Riverlands Way. We could clearly see the yellow in the bill, which was blacker near the tip. The white ear/cheek patch was obvious. The back had gray feathers of non-breeding plumage. Molting seemed to be going on everywhere on the underparts of this bird, creating a messy mix of red and white coloration. We have poor photos of her, but they are good enough to identify her. We were only able to get a few flight shots.
