Observation details

1000th!!!!!! after dipping on the lesser shortwing walked about 50 m along main road and heard some raspy calls to my right (south?) and saw two birds perched on branch about 10 m away without obstrction noted that one was quite ruddy colored and the other was blue saw with bins then noticed the blue one had orange chest/breast - hill blue!! lucky that it wasnt hainan blue because that wouldnt be new. very low shutter speed and manual focus to get pics as good as possible then walked down some stairs to get closer but the pair wasn't on the branch anymore. however heard some movement down the hillside forest so played a bit of calls and the male popped out first, making some noisy calls, was about 5m from me and 3-4 at times so got some very nice pics (only downside is low light but saw very well in viewfinder manual focus could 数毛 seen for about 1min then the female (or immmature?) popped out and got good pics again before it went back and the pair kept to the dense downhill forest
