Observation details

This bird was with a small group of Buffleheads just offshore from the playground area. Ryan Johnson saw the same bird yesterday. It looked more like a COGO in overall appearance, but had a blackish head with a dark gray cheek patch. Photos were distributed to several experts and the consensus was that it was a BUFF x COGO hybrid. If accepted, this will be the first eBird record of this hybrid in Maryland.
