Observation details
*RARE. Wowza. Only the fourth record in eBird for Baltimore City! Arrived ten minutes before sunrise and was met with cloud cover and poor visibility, but I figured anything interesting that showed up would likely be in the form of a flyover, so I was keeping my eyes on the sky. After seeing a few groups of cormorants fly over, at 5:54am I saw three birds with a different silhouette approach from the east. One look through the bins and I laid my eyes on the beautiful downcurved bills of three White Ibis. The birds flew directly over the park and continued northwest, the whole encounter was maybe 30 seconds. They appeared to descend towards Swann Park, but I could not relocate them during subsequent stops at Swann and Ridgley's Cove. ONCE AGAIN, the challenge pays off. Needless to say, first record for West Covington :)
