Observation details

Possibly third. But the first one circled the area twice without roosting. Then moments later, we saw two flying upriver. One of the pair easily have been the one that was circling, if it had flown out to join it. In any case, one is likely the same as was seen by Bryce Perles and others this morning and last evening. Large wader bird, flappier wings than the egrets, long down-turned bill. Both (or all three) were juvenile plumage, brownish with white underneath and dark along the trailing edge of the wings.
