Observation details
Photos obtained of this black-and-white (and gray) kite with a long, forked tail. As reported to us, it showed up about 8:50am, overflying the Kaiser property. It bypassed it's favorite early morning loafing tree—often misreported as a roosting tree—flying around the southern part of the lake for a few minutes before setting down in a sycamore here: 33.78562895, -118.29557072. This is near the southern of the two playgrounds on the west side of the lake. It stayed just long enough for us to get down there, taking off just as we arrived. It then flew around for a bit over the southern part of the lake before kettling so high on a thermal I lost it with binoculars.
