Observation details

Continuing! Lifer! Young male with black body, white stripe on wings, and white smudge behind eye. In grassland southeast of road. First heard distantly around 7:00, then found singing on top of bush. Suddenly he flew towards us and landed across the road hidden by shrubbery. A few minutes later, he bolted out and landed right next to us on a post! Shortly thereafter, he flew across the grassland to the adjacent fence line where he stayed for the next hour, seldom singing. Finally, as light was fading, he went back to a bush near where we first saw him, did a single aerial display, and flew further back toward some Bobolinks. Awesome experience and met some nice birders!
