Observation details
FRS Larger shorebird than the Willets with a much longer slightly upcurved bill near the tip, with a pink bubblegum colored bill base extending outwards for @ 2/3 the length of the bill, with the bill then turning black out to the bill tip. Black legs. Overall brownish in color from the distance observed, with no discernible difference in color between the neck and the belly. Observed it lift it's wings several times and the underwing was a reddish-brown cinnamon color. Although it was larger than the Willets, when the group was walking east to join the other two Willets the Godwit would raise it's wings when crossing every joint in the breakwall. Showed up @ 1100 AM. Remained at the same @ location for 2.5 hours until joining the other Willets. Unlike the Willets it dosed with it's bill tucked behind it and preferred to stand one-legged when dosing and at other times. Was still on the breakwall with the group of Willets at 330 PM when I left the site (4.5 hours).
