Media notes
This adult male individual was photographed just before flying out from its small, cup-shaped nest, about 8 feet up in a shrub.
Observation details
Heard at least two individuals singing from along river in far NE section of park, early on. Then heard and saw another adult male individual foraging in woods just north of central prairie section, as I walked eastbound towards main paved path. ... Later heard several more individuals singing in SE section of park. ... Then observed an adult male individual (bright yellow body; orange streaks on breast and flanks) fly NE from lone dead tree on riverbank to a lower perch in shrub a bit north of Primitive Trail, in SE section of park. Then saw adult male individual on a cup-shaped nest, about 5 feet high in a pea shrub. The individual left the nest for a short while, then returned to it a couple times as I moved out of view and returned to check. ... Later, saw and/or heard several more individuals singing from either side of Primitive Trail, due south of central prairie area, as I walked westbound. (Posted a cropped image from a digiscoped photo of the adult individual just before it flew from its nest.)
