Observation details
There were most likely 50+ of these birds at this location, but I will give what feel is a low estimate. Amazing numbers of them! What a show! This is the most Red Crossbills that I have seen at the same time, and in one location in the Sierras. There were constant Kip-Kip calls all over that location. They seemed to be streaming in from all directions. This was at the intersection of Hwy 88 & Panther Creek Road.
