Observation details

Observed at a distance through chain link fence with bins and scope. Sitting/standing on roof, and sitting on nest. Surrounded by many Herring gulls and fledglings. Perhaps a little larger than the Herring gulls, head white with no streaking, robust yellow bill with red patch on lower mandible, and red orbital ring. Back and wings with extensive black, not seen in flight. Legs looked greenish. No vocalization. Photo.
