Observation details
Perched on the jetty at the third concrete segment out from the base. Smallish black tern with brown tones on breast, neck and wing coverts. White on forehead through top of head; white arc below eye; long, sharp, thin black bill; black feet and legs; heavy wing and body molt with very worn outer tail feathers and fresh inners. Present when I arrived at 7:15 pm, but was gone when I passed by again at 7:40.
