Observation details
*Rare migrant. Perhaps continuing. Good looks, it always returned to the double-trunked dead hemlock tree by the two benches in Billings Field. Saw it sallying for insetcs, and occasionally preening. Could even hear the bill snap a few times when it caught something. Oriole-sized, snag-loving flycatcher with lightly peaked crown, orange underside of bicolored bill, dusky vest, puffy white flanks that sometimes went over the rump, long tail with notch. Looked remarkably similar to the nearby Tree Swallows when it decided to glide rather than sally out for prey.
