Observation details
Field notes - This single brown bird with long, narrow, crooked wings was moving (flying) fast near the embankment, at some point it dived under water for about 10-15 seconds then again came out and started flying. Also, there were Little Cormorants present in the flock. Frankly speaking, I was not educated about this species until today, just knew that it can be found in coastal regions of India. But, at the end of April this year there is a sighting reported from Sonitpur district of Assam near Koliabhomora bridge over the Brahmaputra river with media documentation (photograph). My bird was identified by Mr. Harish Thangraj, Mr. Himanshu and Mr. Ramit Singal when I shared photos in the WhatsApp group.
