Media notes
NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 18. Bulk reel: 205. Weather: Fair. Several displays, which I presume were of this species, were heard way up the ridge from where I was. Only one was recorded and it is here filed for the record. Quality: 2-3. Level: +14. Note: On 20 Aug 1968 (clear, no moon), I was on site at km 35+ from 5:15 AM and there was absolutely no guan activity of any kind that I could observe up to 6:20 AM. I did not see any bird fly across ravine as the presumed female had done in June & July. Note also that in June the first flush of light in eastern sky was roughly at ~5:10 AM, now it's at ~5:20 AM, therefore ~ 10' later. On 21 Aug 1968 I was on site at 5:20 AM. The only guan activity noticed was one display at 5:52 AM, way up hillside. Playback of four wing-whirrs from field tape failed to bring any reaction. On 3 Oct 1968 I was on site at 5:15 AM (clear) and up until 6:10 AM (cloudy) I observed no guan activity of any kind. At that time, as I was changing reels, I heard some "bell calls" up ~ junction of west and mid-ridges.
