Observation details

Observed a warm rich brown colored Willow flycatcher with really washed out looking wingbars with barely a hint of an eyeing seen here (33.7068495, -118.0475656). It was perched behind several layers of branches in a euc behind the one by the trail. Bill appeared kind of wide and flat and lighter colored. I tried in vein to get a decent pic. It was making an incessant dry whit call which I recorded. I did not hear the fitz- new. By the time I took that narrow trail around to the back side (where I’ve usually seen the rattlesnakes)he had stopped vocalizing and was nowhere to be seen. It had shorter wings than a wood peewee, was not flicking its tail and wasn’t high up in the tree. Its head seemed a bit on the larger side.
