Observation details
**Uncommon in spring but it has been a good season for them. A target bird here for sure, and it did not take long before nighthawks began appearing over the reservoir, one of them even coming right down to the surface of the water like a swallow! Obvious nightjars with long wings and erratic, bouncy flight. Many photos taken, but all showed white on the base of the primaries, and no good LENI candidates. 100th Irvington Woods bird for RW!
