Observation details

Crazy!! A light-morph and a dark-morph juvenile seen separately on the east trail between the pond trailhead and the overlook detour. Both smallish buteo hawks, relatively dainty proportions and short tail, light gliding flight style akin to a harrier, watched light morph doing crazy aerial dives and glides with feet outstretched. Light morph with smooth white underside, narrow band of pale flecks on belly, brown “helmet”, white chin, black underside of primary tips. Dark morph with completely streaked underside, black primary tips with paler patch at base. Photos tba soon.
