NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 12. Brazil; Bulk reel: 195 203 tape. a) 7 Nov 1971. 6:00 AM? Weather: Cloudy. Some calls that are extremely like the voice of a Grallaria but that all circumstantial evidence indicated were given by this wood-quail. This was later confirmed by an experienced hunter to whom I talked about it, and who was, incidentally, familiar with the song of Grallaria [blank], which is found in the same area. Quality: 2-3, 2, 3. Level: 3.75. Then some normal wood-quail song. Quality: 3. Level: +3. b) 8 Nov 19l71. 6:35 PM. Weather: Fair. Normal song. Quality: 2+. Level: +3. Note: Just before this I heard more of the "Grallaria-type" calls, some of whicih appear in the background of Cut 3), Schiffornis virescens of Misc. Pipridae - Brazil.
