Observation details
Large shorebird with long upturned bill and a "heavy" chest. Bill orangish at base and dark at tip. Upperparts brown with white scaling; rufous belly, with barring; gray/brown neck; pale eyebrow. Bird was foraging but legs were visible once - they were dark. Documentation photos were taken at 600 mm and cropped heavily. The photos' poor quality were also due to distance, rain and fading light. I compared tonight's photos to others I have taken in the past of the Godwit species, and I noted that the Hudsonian had more contrast in its plumage overall, as compared to the Marbled I have seen.
